Sky Movies Premiere welcomes four favourites back to the channels with HD firsts in April.
Best of the bunch has to be Stanley Kubrick's classic horror The Shining (Friday 3rd, 10pm), which looks suitably shiny after its hi-def makeover. You can literally see the madness seeping out of Jack Nicholson's pores as he terrorises his family during one long winter in an empty hotel.
Kubrick, a director renowned for perfectionism, constructed the hotel on massive sound stages in Elstree and Pinewood studios, and the breathtaking detail in the set design bleeds off the screen.
In Indecent Proposal and Wayne's World (8pm, Friday 10th and 
17th respectively) the tears and titters have never felt so good. A youthful Mike Myers' mullet takes on a life of its own in the film that added "schwing!" to the English language, and Demi Moore looks like the million dollars rascally Robert Redford offers for one night of passion with her in Adrian (Fatal Attraction) Lyne's moral conun-dram.
Action films were made for HD - and Pierce Brosnan's volcano with attitude disaster caper Dante's Peak (8pm, Friday 24th) truly erupts in high-definition. Get hot under the collar in the comfort of your own living room as volcanologist Pierce attempts to save mayor Linda (Terminator) Hamilton and her family from a red carpet you definitely don't want to walk down.
